Java
I have a good working knowledge of programming in Java.
The PDB is currently in the process of a complete re-engineering of the software for data query and distribution. This re-engineering is based on a robust three-tier architecture, with Enterprise JavaBeans for the middle tier. In this context, I re-implemented in Java the redundancy filter, which was originally implemented in Perl on the current PDB web site.
I completed the following UCSD Extension classes:
- J2EE: Fundamentals of Enterprise JavaBeans (Fall 2002 - Grade: A+)
- Java Programming III: Object-Oriented Java Programming (Fall 2000 – Grade: A)
A few applets I have written in the past follow below:
~~~
The following applet is loaded from several servers, and then measures
the time to establish a connection and download an identical test file
(about 55 kB) from the respective server (view the applet source).
